SCARED
OF MONOTONY - Ramesh Aravind
Screen
film weekly dated September 10, 1999
"I
am quite scared of monotony. It has not spared even a great
actor like Kamal Hassan. That is one of the reasons why he
started his own banner. He had the guts whereas my case is
different. I have to work to the tunes of my producers and
directors. Yet I am being very choosy and try to convince
whoever approaches me with stale ideas. The audience demands
variety and a shock treatment is necessary for them on screen.
It is the duty of all artistes to make an effort on this behalf.
This can only help an actor like me to remain in limelight.
So in such a juncture accepting whatever offers will be like
doing a fool's job. Unfortunately economics also plays a vital
role. An actor has got his own dimensions that have to be
tapped and story should not be written with a particular hero
in mind and which doesn't lead to anything". Ramesh Aravind
in the Spotlight - Regional section of Screen film weekly
dated September 10, 1999.
A
joke Ramesh Aravind had read in the internet - Hillary Clinton
dies and goes to hell. She sees lots of clocks all over the
wall each one showing a different time. She is curious what
are these clocks? Yama says 'These are lie detector clocks".
The time on them shows number of lies told by the person.
She goes nearer. Mother Theresa - clock reads 1 O'clock. She
has told only one lie in her life. Gandhiji's clock reads
3 O'clock. He has told 3 lies in his life. She wants to know
how many lies Clintion has told and so asks there where is
Clinton clock. They say 'It is in God's room. He borrowed
it and is now using as ceiling fan".
