Archana
(Joshi) Ramesh Aravind
Excerpts
From An Interview In Screen 10 Years Ago.
"One
thing common between us, which probably drew us together,
was that we are strong individuals with lots of self confidence.
So, after three years of courtship, we got married in 1991
with acceptance from both families' - Archana (Joshi) Ramesh
Aravind in an interview with Screen.
"With
Duet and Sathy Leelavathy, he has proved that he can also
perform character roles with ease" - Archana Ramesh Aravind.
"I
hail from a Madhya Pradesh based North Indian family settled
in Bangalore. Ours was a love marriage, but it was definitely
not love at first sight. I met Ramesh when he was doing his
course in Engineering. Even though I had done a course in
Journalism, I never pursued a career in that field. I was
president of my college union, and used to be very good organizer.
Ramesh was the cultural secretary of his college, and used
to represent his college in cultural meets. He used to write
very good skits, and I always envied him for getting the first
prize in whatever event he participated. We were good friends
initially, and I was attracted to him because of his frankness
and his jovial nature. When I was serious, I used to leave
my telephone numbers with him but he never would call me."
"I
started beauty parlor to spend time in Chennai to spend time
after Tamil hit films like 'Vasanthakala Paravaigal' and 'Keladi
Kanmani' of Ramesh Aravind. With the arrival of our daughter
Niharika, I had to sell of my beauty parlor".
"Ramesh
always listens to my opinions and considers me as a big asset
for improving his performances. He is basically a home bird.
He relishes south Indian food and our home is also decorated
in South Indian style".
"My
regret in life - I still feel like a foreigner in Madras now
Chennai because I have a strong liking for Bangalore".
