Saturday morning saw the Kannada film industry stand united to protest against the Mahadayi River Tribunal verdict. The statewide bandh had the support of the Kannada film industry, led by KFCC president Sa Ra Govindu. "We've stopped all industry-related work for the day. Even cinema halls remain shut through the hours of the bandh. We support the fight against this injustice and this is our first step towards making people in power take note of the issue," he said. The rally saw stars like Shivarajkumar, Ramesh Aravind, Yash and Ganesh come out in support of the cause, along with actresses Meghana Raj, Roopika and Mythriya Gowda. Also, seen at the protest rally were several big film technicians and veteran actors, who voiced their concerns through the course of the rally.
